Soap's not regulated by the FDA. That's why they're not required to list what the colorants are made of. In fact, they're not required to list any of the ingredients. But they do, because they know that people today what to know. They demand to know!

I made homemade soap for us to use around the house and as gifts for family and friends and I use both all-natural mineral pigments and colorants specifically made to be used for soap that ARE approved by the FDA. Depends on what I'm making and what color I try to achieve.

However, I do agree with you on the green coloring for the Greenworks soap. If they want to get it as natural as possible AND to tint it green, I would think that they'd use natural mineral pigments instead of colorants that aren't derived by nature.

Sorry - didn't mean for this reponse to be this long. :)

Gwen, I love you too! I do, I do, I do! Getting to roast Tanis is like...a day with sunshine! Or getting to eat a whole carton of ice cream by yourself! Now wait...we're talking about t. It's like getting trashed on a fifth of Jack Daniels, throwing up all night, and not having a headache the next day.

In all seriousness, I've just perused your blog. Please know that you now have another daily visitor. Albeit another redneck (Tanis knows nothing about being a redneck - for Christ's sake she doesn't have a car on blocks at her house) but a regular one (I'm a good boy - I eat my greens like momma told me to).
