So, we obviously had to go get some of these
We got too many strawberries. Too many for jam, even. Because I am a shortsighted dumbass who underestimated the power of child labor and only bought one packet of pectin for the jam.
When we could have made three batches of jam. But now we have some jam, some frozen strawberries, and I made this:

if i thought even for a minute that it would travel, i would send you one right now.
Wow impressive!

Whoa! It all looks absolutely delicious. And what fun!
BTW, Hi. I haven't been reading long and can't remember if I introduced myself. I also can't remember how I got here. Maybe cake would help.
OKay, Vicki deserves this cake. So if anyone lives in SoCal, make it and bring it to her.
Sharon- I will post the recipe tonight I promise. Right after BEDTIME BLESSED BEDTIME.
what is the proper way to do that, bloggers? Do I EDIT and add the recipe, or do I give it it's own post? (sigh)(blogetiquette)
AspieMom- WELCOME! And yes, cake would probably help you remember all the important stuff. Like where your sunglasses and keys are. And how you got here.
Hi I'm Queenie: okay, I might be crazy but I recognize those strawberries! Are they from Swanton Berry Farms? Those are the berries of the gods! You can spot them by their other worldly shine around the leaves. (i have a smallish life - I can't believe I'm commenting on freakin' strawberries!)
Nice to meet ya.
Queenie?
YOU? Are some special kind of berryfairy. And you win.
They are the berries of gods. Which means I make the jam of gods.
WHOA! THAT IS SO COOL!
GOD JAM!
And q?
Where are you writing now?
Come back to your blog.
Or please come back here. Because you?
Rock.
that last picture... that's a cake.
see, i told you - can't fool me
strawberries (albeit mutant, but who cars?!), coconut AND icing?? I must have some. now.. ;)
Is it sunnier there than it is here today? Because me thinks I need to (shower, and) take the kids down there for some strawberry picking. You guys around today? Maybe we can stop by and wreak havoc on your house :)
Ummmm, why on earth would you bother with jam when you could have more delicious cake? Or as I like to think of it...more frosting conveyance. Mmmmmmm frosting.
The cake looks fantastic.
BTW, strawberry season around here is in the winter (like December-February) I wonder how you have them now...
Dude, I think that internet is out to torture me with amazing deserts today!
Your strawberries are prettier than my strawberries. I think you must have gotten the last of the mutants! And your kids look like they made you less crazy than mine did. It was not pretty. Be glad you did not join us :O
Rachel - I would imagine our zones are different? strange though. do you just have one season? we are near one of the great strawberry growing areas (watsonville, ca) so they are available to us year round, and the coastal fog here allows us to go to the U-pick for delicious strawberries from may/june through September, usually.
Sometimes the picking starts in april...
