Also, when I thought more about her idea, I realized how timely it was and how it could actually help to make one of my troubled readers feel satisfied; maybe even self-important.
[Let's take a moment here to remind everyone that if your comment is signed 'anonymous' it will likely be received with more defensiveness than you may have intended. Such is the nature of going undercover with poorly hidden poking sticks. Any identity is better than none at all.]
Someone asked if my recent post about sharing the list of parent bloggers who write about losing their children was a way to make more money. You know...because I have ads on my site. Not new ads, but my new idea to 'share' was being questioned as a way to get more clicks; make more ad revenue. For those of you who are riding in my lifeboat, you know this is the difference between pennnies and....more pennies!
Same commenter claims that no, that is not what they meant, but offers no further elaboration beyond accusation on the premise for the question (am I being asked a question, or am I being questioned?)...but you read for yourself and see how you can interpret that one.
Do ads on my site automatically mean that I am profiting from writing about my son's death? Probably not as much as the book will.
(take that, anon! suckit!)
Kristen is a straight shooter and also rather fearless. Instead of hiding behind this veil of being properly meek and quiet about the elephant in the room, she took some pictures of the elephant to share with us!
Guess what? It looks exactly like the elephant in my room!
I could not believe the resemblance.
Naturally, I had to reconsider my anti-bandwagon status. I even had to reconsider my hurt feelings about the blatant 'capitalizing on your child's death' implication.
Everyone I know is having some difficult struggle right now. Finances, health, stability...all rocked by earthquakes, floods and fires.

wait, i'm supposed to jump on Kristen?
like Jimmy Supa Fly Snuka?
I think it's a brilliant idea in that it's so simple. Something we all USED to do before getting readers and what-not. I used to ALWAYS click on a blog to read it. Now, the majority of my reading is through the reader.
But not in August!! I vow to click through at least half the time. That way, I'm not on the computer too much more, but the money is flowing a bit faster due to me!
It never occurred to me that it would make a difference if I clicked through from my feeder. I usually only do it if I want to comment. Sure, I'll click through if I remember.
But when you make a million dollars off your blog (and we all know that's the only reason you have a blog), you have to buy me a drink.
Oh, and I totally should have read this before I commented on the other post. Buy me a pack of gum, instead.
I found you through Kristin's site and before posting about it, I thought I'd go through and comment on all the blogs she listed, as well as those who left comments! So I'm in!!!
Good idea!
Wait, don't start yet, I don't have ad's...Damn! ;)
Everyone who is a true sports fan knows that being a fan is a way of life. When you’re a true fan, the emotional swings that go along with your team’s highs and lows carry over into your daily activities. The opposite is true with bandwagon fans: they don’t experience the lows because they realize that they could just jump ship at any time if their current team isn’t on top anymore. Since bandwagon fans can be hazardous to your sports viewing experience.

NEW, NEW, NEW
Just composing my own blog the recession post so I'm clicking on a few of my favorite blogs (like yours :) and new ones. And I'm trying, really, to comment more, even though it's not the most exciting comment.
Clicking through from Kristen... whoever accused you of making a profit from blogging the loss of your child is a moron. Never ever listen to anonymous! I swear anonymous is one specific A hole going around spreading ignorance!
I just joined the Blog the Recession. Such a great idea and fun as well. Another fun perk is finding great new blogs to frequent :)
Just dropping a "hello" In honor of the blog recession!

Yup, I suppose my entries on surviving child sexual abuse is one of my clever little ways to make some bucks.

Hello there! I am here to blog the recession! And I really am glad I've found you site too. :)
I am determined to get to all the blogs on Kristen's list before August is over. I'm sorry you'r catching undeserved flack for expressing yourself; that it comes from someone anonymous is even more tacky.
