A short but memorable conversation

"BWAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEKK! NAH NAH NAH! OOOLMPKFDDD BFAAAEAAACK!"

"You know, Mr. Bubbles, you don't need to scream when you want more. You could just ask. Look, at this age your sister could already sign at least 4 words."

"AAAARGKKK! FLRAAAAAAAAAGH!"

No, see that's what I am talking about. Look. Look at me - see, this is the sign for more. Look - watch Mama - see? Just do this! Not screaming!"

"mmmmmmmmmmMOH!"

Oh.
Okay, well, that will also be fine.

my kid can say "cra" for cracker, "that!" for milk, and "ah duh" for all done. note that these are all food-related terms, rather than "mother, you are a shining beacon of light in my otherwise mundane existence."

he's cute, though.

Kaitlyn has recently started saying "Yum" while eating or waiting for food. Chris thought I was hearing things until he heard it himself. Neither of the boys said their first word before their first birthday! Good for Bubbles, asking for "more"!
